What Is Affiliate Marketing?

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Affiliate marketing typically involves three key players:

The Merchant: Also known as the seller, vendor, creator, or retailer, this is the party that creates the product or service. They’re the ones looking for affiliates to promote their offerings.

The Affiliate: That’s you! As an affiliate, your role is to promote the merchant’s products or services on your platform (like a blog, YouTube channel, or social media account) and motivate your audience to make a purchase.

The Customer: These are the individuals who complete the cycle by purchasing the product or service promoted by the affiliate.

The process works like this: As an affiliate, you promote a product or service using a unique affiliate link provided by the merchant. When one of your audience members clicks on that link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission.

When selecting products to promote, remember to prioritize those that provide real value to your audience. Your reputation is on the line, so promote products you believe in.

Promoting Affiliate Products
